Meet the Author!
I’m a Curious Person.
I was blessed with a mother who, when faced with a flow of “Why...?” and “How...?”, took refuge by answering, “Let’s go look it up.”  The print encyclopedia of my childhood transformed into the resources of any library and the World Wide Web, but the principle has remained the same. If something intrigues me, I want to go look up more about it.  I became a librarian because I love learning new things and I like helping people. Good profession for a person with rampant curiosity, too. I’ve worked in universities, on US naval bases, in Government consulting firms and in the pharmaceutical industry. My motto has always been “Curious Librarians Need to Know”.
I’m a Writer.
I’ve been writing since grade school.  First there were crayon words and illustrations, then books about space travel, mystery and espionage. I've always carried stories in my head and written them down. I’ve written all kinds of things--technical manuals, picture books, newsletters, non-fiction, short stories, poetry--some for my day job, some for fun.

I’m a Romance Addict.
In college, my aunt sent me a box of books, including Kathleen Woodiwiss' THE FLAME AND THE FLOWER. I caught Romance fever and never looked back.  My favorite books are Inspirational and Clean and Sweet romance. But I love Jane Austen and the Regency period. I’ve gotten hooked on US history of the late 1800’s (not necessarily set in the West), and every once in a while, I read a paranormal. An avid fan of romance in all its variety, my favorite diversion is a well-written book with a fine hero and a happy ending. Check out some of my favorites.

I’m a Bit of a Nomad.
I’ve moved a lot--not as much as a military family--but there was one time that I moved every 6 months for 2 years. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, then off to Delaware, Maryland, Tennessee, Kansas, and Michigan. I learned to travel light and to use the different cultures and landscape in my writing. I live in North Carolina with my husband and own Open Book Communications, a business which provides library research services and distributes selected fiction and non-fiction.  When I’m not writing or reading, I enjoy needlework, baking, Scrabble®, traveling, and jigsaw puzzles.

I’m a Dog and Turtle Person.
There have been pets in my past, but I’m pet-less at the moment. To me, turtles are about the most wondrous creatures ever created, and I have been known to stop on the side of the road to guide a wayward turtle off the pavement and into the grass.  I have always considered myself a dog person, but there is a very nice neighborhood cat who greets me when I arrive home. Hm-m-m.

I’m Writing My Way Through Romance Land.
I learned to write with the help of the Romance Writers of America and its local chapters. If you have dreams of becoming a romance writer, that’s a good place to start.

The most repeated advice I got from other writers was to write what you know and write what you love to read. So my approach is to consider the story I want to tell, and choose the best way to tell it. My writing style has been described as “a whole lot of sweet with a dash of spice”.  I like to keep a sense of the Divine Presence in everything I write. I’ll always be honest with you. I add a Content Rating to each of my book descriptions, so it’s clear what to expect.

So here’s this nomad librarian romance addict-writer dog and turtle and maybe cat person, who’s delighted that you’re here. I’m on a journey of writing, enjoying all that romance offers, and letting my curiosity have free rein.
